THE GLOBAL ETHIC
Between August 28 and September 5, 1993 many of the world top religious leaders
met. Among the leaders were the Pope's top Cardinal, the Dalai Lhama, various
Hindu Guru's, leaders of Islam, Loius Farrakan, representatives for Buddhism,
New Age spiritual leaders, representatives for Wicca and many others. They were
all meeting for the 1993 Parliament for World Religions which was sponsored
by the United Nations. What was discussed were methods for humankind to live
in peace, harmony and in unity with each other and the natural world. They came
up with a document which they all signed entitled "The Declaration of a
Global Ethic."
When one reads this United Nations backed document it sounds wonderful. Living together in peace, tolerance and goodwill. The document also depicts living in harmony with the natural world. All this sounds to good to be true. Well as a matter of fact...it is. There is a deeper meaning behind the Global Ethic when studied closely.
One of the most notable aspects are the words 'to be authentically human' as in the Declaration, while other draughts contain the three words, 'not authentically human.'Basically the document labels anyone who doesn't support its ideals to the letter as not authentically human. I have placed on this web site the full content of this document and I have also taken the liberty to highlight various sections with bold lettering and colour so that the reader may locate these sections and see for themselves.
The Declaration of a Global Ethic
This document should concern Christians as it basically terms all belief sytems as equally valid. To a Christian this is not in line with Biblical teaching. A Christian may very well find themselves classed as not authentically human. A Christian should also ask themselves whether it would be legal to kill a not authentically human person. When Adolf Hilter was exterminating the Jewish people in the World War II he had passed laws which classified the Jewish race as non humans. So what Hitler was actually doing was in fact legal and completely within the boundaries of law. The Global Ethic also labels property rights and freedom as secondary to the betterment of society as a whole. The Global Ethic has been written in such a way as many double meanings of various passages can be used as a justification for many actions. So read this document and reread it carefully and I will leave the rest up to you.
